Drama, Drama, Drama

Have you all heard the Bowling for Soup song “High School Never Ends”? One thing that I hate about life is all of the drama that comes along side it. I like to consider myself a good person. I’m not mean and spiteful to anyone. I will try and make friends with any one and be friends with any one no matter what they have done to me in the past. But it gets me no where. I’ve had ridiculous amounts of excess stress in my life the past 2 months. A lot of this stress started with work and as soon as that cleared up and things got better it started with my friends. I’m starting to wonder why I try so hard. Maybe if I give up all the drama will go away? Maybe I should just call it quits and stop trying to help people and not care so much what someone says about me. Maybe I should stop defending myself in these types of situations because it only causes more drama. Because stories never match and someone is most likely lying. Do I just give up on these friendships or do I fight to keep them going. I’m just ridiculously tired of it all and I needed to rant about it. Thanks for listening.

If you haven’t heard the song “High School Never Ends” I’ve attached a version with lyrics from You Tube. I hope you enjoy it.

Christmas Concert/Dress Shopping

Friday night Chris and I were lucky enough to attend the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert with special guest Natalie Cole. This was the third time we were able to attend the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. This was my favorite one. Natalie Cole had a wonderful personality. After the Christmas concert we all went and had dinner at Apollo Burger and then we drove home.
Saturday I woke up and went to get my hair cut. I haven’t had my hair cut since July so I definitely needed it. Then I went Bridesmaid dress shopping for Sarah’s wedding. Becca, Annie and I must be the quickest dress shoppers in the history of man kind. We had dresses picked out to try on within 10 minutes, and after another 5-10 minutes of trying dresses on we had ours picked out. Then it was time for the measurements. The dress that I picked out when I tried it on it was an 8 so I couldn’t zip it up all the way. The other 2 dresses I tried on were a 12 and 14. (I normally wear a 10 or 12) The Lady started measuring me and said I needed to order a size 18. Then she proceeded to tell me that dresses run 2 sizes smaller then normal clothes. I was a little embarrassed and agreed to let her order the 18. Becca and Annie then both measured a size 0. When Sarah arrived I told her what happened and all of the girls were furious. They had me go put on the size 12 dress again and all realized how well it fit me. Sarah went all bridezilla in the dress shop and gave me the confidence to go tell the lady that I wanted her to order me a size 12 and not a size 18. She looked irritated but did what I said mainly because I had the frustrated bride behind me. I can thank Sarah enough. I assumed the lady would measure me appropriately but she measured me over the clothes I was already wearing and didn’t deduct any extra inches. I guess Sarah had the exact same problem 3 years ago when her friend Cat got married. Luckily she stuck up for her self and didn’t order the larger dress because they said too. I can’t imagine how many alterations I would have needed to get that dress to fit me. Let alone how expensive that would have been. So here is the dress I picked out for her wedding.

Baby Emily

My good friend had her baby yesterday, in the guest bathroom of her condo. Monday morning she started having contractions at work around 9:45. They were 4-6 minutes apart lasting 1-2 minutes long. I was getting nervous because I was the person to take Kelly to the hospital if she went into labor. (She’s a pain and didn’t want to deliver where we work so I would have to drive across the valley to get her to her hospital.) We left work around 12:45 and went to meet up with Isaac. Kelly didn’t want to go to the hospital yet but we convinced her she should at least go get checked. At 4:30 pm she was sent home from the hospital because she wasn’t progressing fast enough. Tuesday 12/8 at 2:00 am she went back to the hospital because her contractions got worse and she couldn’t talk through them. At 4:30 am they sent her home because she still wasn’t progressing fast enough. They did give her a Phenergan and Morphine shot to help her relax during the contractions so she would be ready when the time came. 11:40 am Kelly’s water broke, she texted her husband and said “my water just broke, meet me at the hospital” and then she called her sister. Her sister sent her brother in law to the house to take her to the hospital. Kelly felt some pressure so she felt her self and realized that she could feel the baby’s head. They called 911 and asked for them to send an ambulance. She went into her bathroom and waited for the paramedics. Not even 5 minutes later 2 big fire trucks and 2 ambulances pulled into her condo parking lot. They came running up stairs and within 3 minutes of them being there Emily was born at 12:07 pm on 12/8/09. She was 6 pounds 14 ounces and 19 inches long. Momma and Baby are both doing wonderful and they took an ambulance ride to the hospital. It’s quit the birthing story for her first time baby.

Congrats Kelly, Isaac and Baby Emily.

Thanksgiving Weekend Updates

Wednesday my Mom and Larry got married. It was a quiet little ceremony at a local court house. My Mom and Larry have been together for the past 9 years and I’m excited that they finally made it official. Larry is a wonderful man and he treats my mom very well. I’m lucky to have such a wonderful step-father.
Thursday (Thanksgiving) was very busy. Chris and I went to his parent’s house for a nice Thanksgiving lunch and I helped prepare the food when we go there. After spending the entire morning with Chris’ family we drove over to my mom’s house. Then we had a nice dinner with my Mom, Larry, Michelle (his daughter that flew in from Portland), Kenny, Walter, Mack, Aunt Jann, Uncle Donny, and my Grandpa Mills. After dinner we went down stairs and the boys watched football while I went through Black Friday ads.

Friday I didn’t go crazy and wake up super early and go shopping. Chris and I did go to Lowes to buy his sister a Micro-hood for her family birthday present. Then Chris and I went to Target, I LOVE Target. We were able to get a lot of gifts their and some new movies for our collection. Then we went home and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned.

Saturday Chris’ family celebrated our niece’s 7th birthday by going to a Jumping Jacks Jump House. It was A LOT of fun. Every adult left with vinyl burns on either there elbows or knees. After Cameron’s party we went home to finish getting ready for the big game. Appi and Sanda came over and we watched the Utah VS BYU game. I’m a HUGE Utah fan and this is the biggest rivalry game that they play. The game was really good but sadly the Utes lost in overtime to BYU. After the game the 4 of us went to a local theatre and watched The Blind Side. It was a great movie. I really enjoyed it.

Sunday we went and visited my Grandma and had a nice lunch with her. Then we went home and watched a few movies and more football. It was a nice relaxing day after the busy weekend.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Where have I been?

This past month has been extremely stressful for me. I’m not going to go into a lot of the details of my stressors but I will get you caught up on the fun things in my life that keep me going.

Halloween was a blast. I didn’t cut my hair (Chris talked me out of it) so I bought a wig instead. We had a fun Halloween night at my friends Sarah’s house.
Chris: Gangster, Me: Flapper, Appi: Marty McFly
November 3rd through the 6th I was in Idaho Falls with work. I had a great time and I’m hoping they will consider taking me back up there with them for the next trip.

November 14th I went to see Disney Princess on Ice with my friend Sarah. She got tickets for her birthday and her fiancĂ© didn’t want to go with her. So we went instead. We had a great time. I forgot my camera but she has some pictures I will have to steal from her.

November 18th I was hanging out with my friends Sarah and Kalie getting ready to watch Glee and have a nice relaxing night in when I get a call from my mom telling me that she and Larry are going to get married. My mom and Larry have been together for over 9 years. I’m excited for them to be getting married. He truly is a great guy.

November 20th I baby sat my favorite little 5 year old Ryan. He’s a hoot and he’s SO much fun to play with. After I finished babysitting Sarah, Sanda and I went to a 10:30 showing of New Moon. I’m completely an Edward fan by the books but a Jacob fan in the movies. He is HOTT.

Hott!!!!

November 21st Chris and I picked up Sanda and then we went to Sarah’s house to meet up with Appi, Eric and Sara because we were all going to the Utah vs Sand Diego football game. It was a lot of fun and Utah won 38-7.

Today: I was driving to work and my Mom called me. I’ve now been put in charge of getting flowers for the wedding that is tomorrow morning at 9:00. Wish me luck.

Sneak peek of my agenda for tomorrow.

8:30 pick up flowers, 8:45 pick up Chris from work, 9:00 be to the place they’re getting married, 10:15 doctors appointment to discuss new medications, 12:00 lunch with Sarah and Cat, 1:00 wedding/bridesmaids dress shopping with Sarah and Cat. Dinner with Sarah’s wedding party. I hope I get it all in.

my theatre filled weekend

This past weekend was a blast. Friday Chris and I went out to dinner with some friends at Rio Grande then we all watched Nightmare Before Christmas afterwards.

Saturday morning Chris and I cleaned our house and ran errands. Saturday evening we went to UVU in Orem to watch Something Wicked this Way Comes.

It was the WEIRDEST play I have EVER seen. I think I needed to on some sort of psychedelic drug to understand it. After the play we all went out to dinner and then made the hour commute home.

Sunday Sarah and I went to her high school to watch their production of RENT. They did an amazing job. Some of the kids couldn’t sing (but you can’t expect too much since they’re in High School) but some of the others had A.M.A.Z.I.N.G voices. It was also really interesting what parts and words they would allow the students to say and what parts they would cut out.

HELP

I'm going to be a Flapper for Halloween and I'm trying to decide do I buy a wig for my flapper dress or do I actually cut my hair as if it were the 1920's? What do you think?
